The headmaster of The Overlake School, Mr. Robert Dean Palmer, sent me to the summer quarter of Seattle Pacific University for a special program on "ITIP" -- Instructional Theory into Practice. I learned how to make German and Latin tests with each item indicating how much of the total score for the test was tied to the item. A Seattle TV station came and videotaped the "teaching of teachers". When I remarked to one pretty woman teacher that I had seen her "distinctive hair-style" on TV, she came and sat next to me. It did not dawn on me that the female teachers in the course might be looking for husbands. So maybe I could have gotten married and spent several happy decades as a family man, but my Prime Directive in life was to work as an independent scholar in artificial intelligence (AI).
